Our motto here at Fifty-Cent Head is "we search for beauty news so you don't have to" and whilst surfing yesterday I came across a wonderful treat for you. Ya ready!? I'm about to jingle your bells, ladies and gentlemen!

What's everyone's favorite thing about Thanksgiving, besides the pumpkin pie? Well, it's the Black Friday releases at MAC, isn't it???

 

Take a look at this bad boy- one of the bags from the 2008 MAC Holiday Collection. It's got square edges, and appears to be shiny... like pleather, maybe? And it's the amazing, dazzling, spectacularific shade of red...

More MAC + Fafi info

All of this Fafi for MAC news is trying my patience. I just want the collection to be out already! Alas, I will wait like all of you 'til February.

I've talked a bit about Fafi for MAC here and here.

While we wait for the collection to drop, you must go to Specktra.net and to Temptalia.com to see the newest product pictures online. The packaging is amazing - and when I say that, I literally mean the packaging. The product cases are cute, too, but the actual boxes are great. I have never saved a box for makeup, but I will do so with these.

The quads and Paint Pots look completely amazing, and I can't turn down an iridescent powder even though I never really have an opportunity to wear them full-bore!

MAC - Slimshines: More information

MAC Rumor Mill ...

...the buzz is this:

• Fergie is the new Viva Glam spokesperson - we already knew that. The rumor is she'll be promoting a limited edition of Viva Glam VI. It's supposed to be a "pinky mauve". Also, she's made a new version of her song "Glamourous"  called "VivaGlamourous," naturally. A limited number of downloads of the song will be available at MACCosmetics.com. • We know the N-Collection represents the N-word, which is NUDE. But Specktra has more info for us: the Mineralize Skinfinish Naturals will be represented in this collection with the following shades - Light Medium, Medium Plus, Medium Deep, Medium, Medium Dark, and Dark. Two new (!) Mineralize Skinfinishes will be introduced - Warmed and Light Flush.  Read more here, at Specktra.

MAC - upcoming collections

OK, some of this is unsubstantiated (just because someone else trusts their source, doesn't mean I trust their source!), but here's some upcoming MAC collection info for you. As soon as I can confirm the details, I'll flesh out the information more.

• MAC N/Naked Collection will be nude-toned products: polishes, paint pots, lips, eyes - all in skin shades, some with a luminousity, some matte or creamy. Rumor has this one coming out mid-January. (Most of the info I have seen online is a badly translated snippet that was originally either Chinese or Japanese, I think.)


• Slimshines are coming back - but I've been telling you that already. Seems like they may come in on Boxing Day with The Originals, according to Specktra.net, but I'll tell you: my counter has The Originals, the Moisturelushes, and the Sculpt and Shapes, so I highly doubt there's anything else coming - or else it would be in the stockroom. I predict it will come out with N/Naked - and will hopefully be PERMANENT (which is the rumor I have been hearing). Anyway, Specktra's source says 13 repromotes and 7 new shades. I love this formula, so that's great news. My must-haves from Slimshines are Bare, Scant,  Long Stem Rose, and Pleasing. Can't wait to see the new shades!


• The loose Mineral foundation that I told you about - Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation / Loose - is rumored to be scheduled for early March. It's going to be medium-to-full buildable coverage, according to the Specktra source. Nine shades, all with the built in sponge top, like I told ya before, but I didn't know there would be an extra sponge, too.


• This is interesting, and totally Specktra's news that I'm passing on to you: Strobe Liquid and Strobe Lip Conditioner. Hmmm.... I'm not clear on if these are a collection or a new permanent selection. Anyway, of course you're familiar with the lovely Strobe Cream! I love the shimmer and glow, but it breaks me out - it's so emollient! This is a liquid version. Verrry intriguing. Maybe my skin can tolerate this better!? And a Strobe Lip Conditioner?! I can't wait to try that. These will apparently be released with Tinted Lip Conditioner Sticks in 4 shades. I hope they are better than the current Lip Conditioner Stick, which gets all manky after awhile. But this is a great idea; I love the Tinted Lip Conditioners. Hope the stick comes in Plum Perfect or something like it...


• Specktra says there will be 8 Beauty Powder Blushes coming out soon. YAWN. I am so tired of the MAC Beauty Powders. With any luck, these will be nice, but I always feel like the Beauty Powders and the Loose Beauty Powders leave me wanting.

Rumor Mill - MAC

 

Earlier, I shared this rumor with you:

• Paints and Shadesticks are being discontinued.

I can confidently say that this rumor is, in part, BUSTED!

Apparently, they are being discontinued in Asia, but not elsewhere. So, Paint fans can relax and don't have to start changing over to Paint Pots unless they want to.

So, if you love the Paints or you are a Shadesticks fan, and you don't live in the Asian market, get your happy dance on!

And if you are in the Asian market, I'm sorry.  (However, not that sorry because you get that cool A Mei collection and the Lightful skincare that I wish I had here...)
