Every Fall, MAC artists create amazing face charts to inspire their artists and customers at Halloween. This year is no different! The Looks of 2007 are categorized in several ways this year: Dark Side (spooky and scary), Graphically (patterns and graphic looks), Optical Illusion (the category name says it all), Pretty Things (the softer side of Halloween), and Robotniks (futurized looks and mechanical mayhem). As always, Looks can be accessed on the MAC website and each look tells you which products you need to achieve the look.
To see my favorite looks, read on if you dare...
Absinthe Minded - Dude, this one wins for name alone! And the look is über-cool, too. I have all of these products (Gesso, Bitter, Humid, Carbon and Club shadows; Media lipstick; Velvetella Cremestick liner; Brow Finisher in Clear; Blacktrack Fluidline) so don't think I won't be trying this baby out this year!
Wrapped Up - Creative use of the versatile Cream Color Bases and some eyeshadows gets you snuggly and comfortably swathed in mummy gauze without the pesky lack of air.
X-ray - Only 3 products will get me this look? (Cream Color Bases in Black and Luna and Carbon eyeshadow) How cool is that!? With my love of all things skeletal (except emaciated supermodels) I am all about this Look!
Unzipped -OK, this one is cool and it creeps me out. I think that's the sign of a good costume. This one probably uses the most products of all of the looks, but it seems worth it.
Butterfly - Not the most creatively named, but still well executed. A lot of products are needed for this look, too, but I think more important is the skill it takes to get the colors in the right place.
Half Tinned - Five shadows, a few liners, and a Shadestick is all it takes for this look. Who needs bionics!? I like the plate metal appearance. Neat. Unsettling. Very MAC!
