Metal-X Cream Shadow is a lovely, thick, creamy shadow in various metallic shades. It's similar to the creamy shadow stuff that came out last year in MAC's Couture collection, but supposedly a bit easier to wear. This product, like the other, is fine on any type of skin, so feel free to use it to highlight your eyes, lips, cheeks, collarbone... anything that catches your fancy or that you wish to really capture the light. All are Limited Edition.

The
Metal-X Cream Shadow colors will be:
- Virgin Silver - A white silver with silver pearl
- Pure Ore - A metallic green-gold
- Goldspice - A metallic copper-gold
- Fusion Gold - A light pink-beige that has gold pearl
- Pink Ingot - A blu-pink with gold pearl
- Metalblu - A "navy blue" with silver pearl (it's not really quite a navy)
- Cyber - A metallic silver with silver pearl
- 6th Sin -A forest green with silver pearl
- Plum Electric - A deep purple with red pearl
These shadows are paired with
Glitter Eye Liners (all are Limited Edition). These liquid eyeliners, for those who aren't familiar with the concept, have glitter suspended in them. They're usually fairly sheer in color, but not always. The colors:
- Blitzed - Yellow-gold with multicolor glitter
- Wonderwhite - Silver-white with multicolor glitter
- Enbronze - Deep brown with multicolor glitter
- Pewterpink -Blue-purple with multicolor glitter
- Lime Dandy - Yellow-green with multicolor glitter (think Springsheen for the eyes!)
As usual, with the MAC products, I have gotten a chance to play with these. I'll start by saying I'm not a fan of the Glitter Liners, mostly due to poor color payoff. But I'll try these and see how I feel once I get them. I've been told the formula was tweaked a bit, but I will want a bit more free-reign to experiment before comitting. As for the Metal-X shadows, this may be one of those things that MAC puts out that drives us mad with desire, then mad with disinterest. When I saw the colors, I was speechless. SO VERY PRETTY! Wow, did they feel nice, too, when I swept my finger over them. Then I did up my whole eye in these, and they creased like a son-of-a-bitch. I will say, though, they were quite impressive swept on elsewhere as a highlight - but only the lighter ones work well that way (no one really sweeps green highlighter on the collarbone, eh?) So, when they come out, I'll experiment with different bases and see how they work on the eyes. Until then, I remain fairly unimpressed.
Oh, but by the way, the MAC "Looks" for this collection are some of the hottest I've ever seen. Make sure you take a look once the collection is posted online!
Let me just start with the one I'm picking up first. It seems like as good a place to begin as any! While I do makeovers on customers all day, I'm constantly washing my hands and using alcohol-based hand sanitizers, so my hands feel dry and tight all of the time. I don't like it, and I don't think it's that nice up against the faces of my customers. Since I don't like to completely demolish other counters' testers, I spread the wealth and through the course of my time in the department have sampled hand creams and supposed "miracle treatments" from just about every line out there. The Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream is hands-down the best (pardon the bad pun!). So, when I heard that Clarins was offering two 3.5 (full size) Hand and Nail Treatments for only $40 in their Happy Hands and Nails package, I realized Christmas had come early. (Normal retail price for one of these is $29)
