- Estée Lauder has launched their annual Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. In its 16th year, now, there are special new twists to keep things fresh: a pink polka-dot tank top collaboration with Splendid - $42 with $5 from each going to the Lauder-founded Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The new theme: "World Pink. World Without Breast Cancer. Wear a Pink Ribbon. Make a Difference." Fifteen of the Lauder companies will be selling pink ribbon products, so please buy something from each: Aveda, Bobbi Brown, Bumble and bumble, Clinique, Darphin, Donna Karan, Estée Lauder, Jo Malone, La Mer, Lab Series Skincare for Men, Ojon, Origins, Prescriptives, Tommy Hilfiger Toilitries and Sean John Fragrances. If you're near a Bloomingdales, pick up one of the specially-designed products made in conjunction with the Lauder company: an umbrella, a tote, or cards. Look for clever cartoons designed by Marisa Acocella Marchetto, associated with this campaign, too. At the very least, stop by an Estee Lauder counter and pick up a pink ribbon and help promote awareness of the fight against breast cancer.

Jean Paul Gaultier is launching a new women's fragrance (!), Ma Dame, WWD is reporting. Expect the scent in September, though it will be available in Paris, London and Hong Kong as early as August. It's going to be a "fresh floral" created by Francis Kurkdjian. There's a nice write-up of the scent on one of my favorite sites for fragrance info: The Scented Salamander, with a follow-up post from them here.
[Editor's Note: this is interesting, because the scent sounds so different from all of the other JPG scents, which I love. I'll be interested see if he lent his name to something else great, even if it is such a big departure from the norm for this line.] - Jemma Kidd, Napoleon Perdis and Petra Strand are going to be selling tweaked versions of their "makeup artist lines" of cosmetics at Target soon. Look for them at the end of August.
- Queen Latifah is going to be developing a new fragrance. She signed a deal with Parlux Fragrances Inc, recently. Look for the perfume in Fall 2009.
- The fall is going to be a busy time, as usual. Coty's prestige division is content to have mastered the art of fragrances (see: Calvin Klein, Chloe, J Lo, Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang, Sarah Jessica Parker and others) and is moving on to high-end skincare with the debut this fall of their new line Home Skin Lab. This is a great way to set a foundation (pardon the pun) for their lovely cosmetics lines: Rimmel, NYC New York Color, and Sally Hansen. According to WWD, the line is going to start with 18 products and was developed by Coty and "Manhattan-based facial plastic surgeon Norman Pastorek and his wife, Janice, an aesthetician". You will find it first on HSN. Note: also keep an eye out for Coty's other skincare line, Lancaster, which will be available via HSN, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's and Lord & Taylor. Coty is taking over the world!
- La Mer donated $100,000 to the nonprofit organization Oceana as part of its contribution to World Ocean Day.
[Editor's Note: Hmmm... for upwards of $200 a jar, couldn't they have done a bit more? May want to protect the oceans that produces the precious ocean-derived Miracle Broth!]
- Estee Lauder is launching a new fragrance collection called Sensuous. See the website here. Spokesmodels for the scent are Hilary Rhoda, Carolyn Murphy, Elizabeth Hurley and Gwyneth Paltrow.
- Amazing designer/fashion phenom Yves St. Laurent has moved on to The Big Runway in the Sky. We'll leave you with this tribute:
