I'm not great at swatching (well, I can paint it on, but my cuticles are atrocious so I hate posting pics of my hands!). But I'll try from time to time. But I'll let the aforementioned ladies take most of the lead on this, since I think experts should be honored, and these ladies are the experts!
So what's New in Nails on January 12th, 2009??
Beautiful Makeup Search brought this to my attention. Do you remember the Fall's black lipgloss trend? Remember the hype surrounding Lancôme's Phia Black Color Fever Gloss?
Well,I never did pick it up, but apparently there's a nail polish version available. I can't wait to check this out! I especially want to check out the new formula, which is supposed to last for up to 7 days. It's got something called "shield platicizers" which are meant to keep the polish and nails flexible and shiny. It's also got an ingredient called Methyl-Sulfonyl-Methane (MSM), which will boost keratin and add to that shiny flexible thing.- Heidi Montag offends many with her new Chanel manicure. The logo is emblazoned on each fingernail. That's all I have to say on the subject.

- All Lacquered Up scooped the blogosphere with her pics of the new MAC Hello Kitty Couture collection polishes, due out in February. Here they are:

Vestral White - creamy white. (this was originally released with Antiquitease)
Comments: I don't love the MAC lacquer formula, but I'm interested in On the Prowl. I find it interesting that MAC is so late to join the grey polish bandwagon, but I guess they can't lead all trends...
- Essie's Spring Collection, previewed (with swatches) by Scrangie. Check it out! None of these move me, but the formula is so damn good, I may pick up the red, Lacquered Up, one so I know I have a really good red!

- Bella Sugar has a picture of the eagerly anticipated (?) OPI shades to commemorate the new 90210 show. Take a look. The colors look pretty ho-hum to me, but then again: so does the show.

- On counter now, MAC's Dame Edna collection. Two over-the-top colors. The lighter one is gorgeous, but I have "a problem" with purple polish and I fully admit it. Take a look at Asiatique and Varicose Violet:
