I missed the stupid deadline due to a stupid mistake, but am posting the looks anyway.
Execution on this one wasn't great*, but I loved the concept!
*I put a brow wax on, and then the brows got really manky and not at all nude. Shoot!
Ideally, I would have made them skintone, but couldn't get it to work with the items I had on-hand.
Here's the inspiration:
I used to work for a cosmetics line, and one season was all about "smokey eyes, nude lips". You know how sometimes your brain is working faster than your mouth? Well, I kept mistakenly saying "smokey lips, nude eyes."
And so the look:
When I learned how to do a "real" smoky eye, I was told to envision a puddle of ink that was super-saturated in the center and faded as it moved away from center. So that's what I tried to recreate with the lips - darkest in the center, fading into the skin.
I used MAC's Smolder Eye Kohl to create the darkest black, and a nude lipstick, then blended carefully. I went over the center again, then used a black gloss in the center and a nude gloss over the lip margin and onto the skin around the lips.
