There are so many sites and blogs out there, and it's hard to keep up with all of them. Trust me, I understand. I used to try!
While I may pop into other blogs here and there, some I'm addicted to.
Here are the ones I never miss...
Beauty Blogs:
- Beaut.ie
Aside from the fact that they won the website name lottery, they're a must-read because these Irish lassies write about anything beauty-related with great knowledge and much humor. - Blogdorf Goodman
One of the first blogs I fell for, this one never disappoints. What does it do well? Well... everything! - British Beauty Blogger
I love getting a glimpse of the brands available in the UK that we don't have here in the US. As a professional beauty writer, we benefit from her position in the industry, and also get a little insight into it from time to time! Plus, she's sweet as pie. - Karla Sugar: The Next Best Thing to Going Shopping Yourself
Long name, but worthwhile. Karla has the most famous arm in the blogosphere holds swatches of almost every product there is. No, really. And she writes well, too! - Makeup & Beauty Blog
High-end, department store, drugstore - Karen does it all with style, talent, and humor. Plus, her assistant and blog mascot, Tabs, is a riot. - The Non-Blonde
Well-written and articulate reviews of high-end makeup and cosmetics. She's picky and no-nonsense in a very good way. And she's a huge vintage perfume fan, so if that's your thing you must go visit Gaia. - The Notice
Rae writes a great blog that's fun to read and makes you feel like you've been welcomed into her living room for a chat. Her "looks" can be used by anyone, and happily prove that Asian women have plenty of options for makeup. - Padmita's Make-up Blog
After you read through the archives, you'll find yourself as addicted to her site as I am. She is a gifted and creative artist! But don't get mad at me when you find out she pretty rigourously sticks to a once-a-week schedule. - Temptalia
You can't not read Temptalia if you're a beauty fan. Christine's straight-forward reporting and connections with so many brands keep you up-to-date! She's a strict reviewer, so you know you're getting an honest assessment. Plus, her foundation matrix, swatch database, MAC database, and other catalogs make matching and searching for products pretty darn easy.
Nails / Nail Polish
- All Lacquered Up
If not the very first polish blog (and I think she was), she's the most well-known and successful. From Michele Mismas, owner/operator, you get information about the next big thing, stories about new collection, swatches of many polishes, and even backstage fashion week coverage! It's all here.
- Dr. Frankenpolish
Have you heard of polish frankening? It's customizing or mixing polishes to get a unique new lacquer. It's fun to see what she's come up with next. And maybe you'll be inspired to try frankening on your own! - Just Nice Things
A blog written by two women, Helen and Sheenie, that covers makeup and nail polish and almost everything in between. I group it in with the nail blogs, though, because I love their polish posts. Read my interview with Helen here.
- Lacquerized
Possibly the most polished polish blog there is, this very suave and streamlined blog is not just visually stunning, it's informative and fun, too. Be sure to check out her well-designed tutorials and informational articles!
- Nihidra's Blog
Following Nihidra is a bit like riding a new roller coaster: it's loads of fun and you're never sure what's going to happen next! From polish to kitty pics to intense eye makeup looks to personal insight, this "nail polish blog" is more than it appears to be. - Scrangie
I don't know what it is about Scrangie, but I'm addicted to her site. I think it's her perfectly photographed pics that are usually pretty damn color-accurate. Whatever it is, I love her blog! - The Nailphile
Siobhan covers the brands you know and some you don't, and her kind demeanor and lovely swatches only sweeten the pot. Plus, I have to get my daily dose of her signature sign-off, "Until next time, love and nail polish to you! " - Vampy Varnish
Kelly writes a fun blog, covers a lot of brands, and also tosses some makeup in from time to time. I very much admire her recent decision to purchase and review only animal cruelty-free brands!
Fashion / Style
- Fifi Lapin
If you love fashion, surely you're familar with Fifi Lapin, the most stylish bunny in the world. If not, please visit this amazing socialite/style icon today! - Haute Macabre
It's not just that this site speaks to my (hidden) inner goth... but that's a bit part of it. OK, most of it. But also there's many an artistic picture over which to drool! - Olsens Anonymous
I thought "A blog with picture of the Olsen Twins? How stupid!" And then I looked at it and was hooked. - Sea of Shoes
You can't help but adore the constant parade of vintage finds in this slightly indulgent but still intriguing fashion site. - Zoetica Ebb/ Biorequiem.com
Zoetica is hard to categorize, but I think I have to put this website here because if only one label could fit it's STYLE. Gorgeous, creative, clever, and talented also fit.
